A Day Off...what To Do?

March 6, 2006 / by mereonair

Yes, I have tomorrow off. I don't even know what to do! The station gave us the day off because we worked all weekend. I have already slept about 5 hours today. Read 1 Oprah magazine, an In Touch, and a Real Simple. I guess I can workout.

It is just soooo weird to have a day off in the middle of the week. Any suggestions? Maybe a good movie that you saw? Maybe a good few hours at a coffee shop. I think I will go see The Family Stone tomorrow. It is $1 a movie on Tuesday's. However, if I go tonight...it is DOUBLE. Oooohhh, ripoff.

Okay, please give me fun suggestions...a good book? a good movie? anything interesting that you have done lately that I can do in MN?

BTW - I am sad about Kirby Puckett.

Hmmm, I haven't seen any movies lately.. which is very strange for me. My movie buddy has been in Seattle with his wife. Seriously the last movie I saw was Munich last month. I like it. I've heard good things about 16 Blocks. Good Luck finding something fun to do!!! [HEART]

I would be more for a bubble bath, then curl up with a good book. I know what you mean though about having a day off in the middle of the week, it can be a strange experience when you are used to working. I listen to you on KS95 in the mornings. You are a great addition to the morning show. Welcome to Minnesota.

If you want to try a MN tradition of getting away, try the conseravtory at Como Park. It is a warm and toasty respite all Winter long, and has been there since 1915. Try this for hours and directions, plus a few photos from the inside. http://www.comozooconservatory.org/ They just finished a restoration and it's really a great example of the historic Twin Cities.

I absolutely loved the indie flick "Chumscrubber." You can rent it. Enjoy your day and take some time to spoil yourself.

If you're looking for a good book a million little pieces is really good. Who cares what Oprah says. If it was up to her none of us would be eating red meat.
