Hi.

July 23, 2008 / by mereonair

It's been awhile since I have posted.  Always busy...I suppose.  Let's see, quick update.  I had the most awesome time in Chicago seeing my family.  Sometimes you feel like you are still 12 and that is a great thing.  And, family is soooo important(and yes...I include friends as my family).  Anyway, I just wish we all still lived near each other.  But, then again...that might drive us all a little bit nutty.  Everyone has kids and I even got to watch the fireworks just like we used to.  And, why is it that when you want to run into people you used to know...you never do.

I have been feeling really great, been in a good space.  And, I still am despite a few small incidents.  But, I won't let that get me down.  I got into a little car accident about a week ago.  It is funny the decisions you make when you are in shock.  Thanks Toni for making me file with my insurance :)  Because I almost ended up in some salvage yard trying to do my own little deal.  Shock is an interesting thing.  My computer had a weird crash.  I bought my computer with a backup drive...so anything I save on my hard drive is automatically mirrored onto my very expensive backup.  Well, I was the 1 in a million lucky one to have both drives crash.  Good times :)  I am still working on recovering old files.  However, I have fixed my computer so it at least works.

And, then I got the call today.  The call I knew I would most likely get at some point.  The call you talk yourself out of...saying it would never happen.  One of my good friends from college and radio passed away this past weekend.  I knew he was having an extremely hard few years.  It just makes me so sad because he was so great.  I said "was"....that is even more sad.  Everyone moves on and has their own lives to live.  And, you try to be there for your friends.  And, sometimes, they have such a hard time, it is really out of your control.  Either way, my friend Tim really helped me through the worst of times, as I tried to help him.  He is still on my myspace in the same friend #3 place where he was before.  But, now it is a strange thing to see it.

And, I suppose as we get older, we will continue to get calls like that.  However, I am going to remain positive and know that most calls we receive are for celebrations and luv and only great things.  Okay, there is nothing else I want to talk about because I am still going thru it all in my head.

BUT, at least I had the most awesome time at the Neil Diamond concert.  Funny!  Who would have ever thought I would end up there?  But, I did :)  And, I have been getting set up a lot.  Weird...but you never know, right?

And, I am going to my fun convention a week from tonight.  So, that will be fun seeing old friends, etc.

Okay, I will talk to y'all soon....hope things are good on your end.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend!  Some things that happen in life make us free so helpless and useless, I hope you are doing okay!

did you get hurt in the accident??? how bad did your car get damaged???

That is so sad....glad you are focusing on the "postives" to help you through the "negatives"!

And in reference to the concert: I grew up listening to my Dad's Neil Diamond albums, so I have to call myself a "closet fan", but I wanted to ask.....which songs did he pick for his encore (assuming he had at least one?  I've heard that no matter what kind of genre you are into, his concerts are ALWAYS great!

    Thanks, and keep looking up!
